How to Open Vaults in Fortnite
Opening vaults in the previous Fortnite seasons were relatively complex, especially in solo mode. With the release of Chapter 3 Season 4, Epic Games slightly changed this mechanism, and now players need keys to open vaults, which makes sense. Low-Security Vaults require one Key to open, while High-Security Vaults require two. As you may have predicted, Low-security Vaults are filled with basic loot, whereas the High-Security Vaults reward players with super rare items.
Where to Find Vault Keys in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
Like many other Fortnite items, Vault Keys can easily be found on the ground as floor loot, inside chests, and even in supply drops. Coming across the keys is relatively easy, and there’s no hard and fast rule to find them. However, there are a few points that one should bear in mind about the keys. The number of keys available on the Fortnite island varies depending on the number of vaults on the map. If the game algorithm spawns a lot of keys on the map, then you can easily find multiple vaults across the island. If there are fewer, then it will be a daunting task for you to find vaults on the map.

As of writing, we believe that there’s no fixed spawn location for Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4. But finding them on the map is still an easy task. Once you collect one or more Keys, you’ll see keyhole signs on your map that will take you to the Vault. Unlike previous seasons, players can now encounter the Vaults floating in the air rather than underground. So, there you have it.
